The manifestations and behavioral changes that may indicate <br />substance use or abuse; and, <br />6.6.1.3. Their role and responsibilities in implementing the program. <br />6.7. Employee Assistance Programs (SAPS): <br />6.7.1. It is recommended that each employee subject to this specification maintain a <br />relationship to an EAP to strengthen the Fitness for Duty program by offering <br />assessment, short-term counseling, referral services, and treatment monitoring <br />to employees with problems that could adversely affect their performance. <br />EAPs should be designed to achieve early intervention and provide for <br />confidential assistance and counseling follow up. <br />6.8. Management Actions and Sanctions: <br />6.8.1. The Company shall remove from any job site and preclude from performing any <br />work by any Company employee who: <br />6.8.2. violates any of the prohibitions set forth in the Drug & Alcohol section of this <br />specification; <br />6.8.3. provides a false or tampered sample in connection with a drug test; or <br />6.8.4. refuses or fails to appear or provide a sample on the day or at the time <br />requested <br />6.8.5. A Company employee, who reports to work while taking prescribed or over-the- <br />counter medication which interferes with his or her performance and who has <br />not notified supervision as required in the Drug & Alcohol section, risks the <br />safety of his or her fellow workers and the public, and is subject to removal <br />from any Company job site and preclusion from subsequent work. <br />6.8.6. A Company employee, who has violated this policy (15' Offense) will be <br />precluded from performing work, may not return to work at the same company <br />or any other Company job site until the following is completed: <br />6.8.6.1. Minimum of (1) one month suspension for all work within the <br />Company from the date of D&A Test <br />6.8.6.2. The employee shall complete an appropriate rehabilitation program <br />satisfactory to the Company at the employee's expense. <br />6.8.6.3. The rehabilitation program must be completed before the employee is <br />permitted to return to work, even if suspension time has been <br />completed. <br />6.8.6.4. The Medical Review Officer (MRO) has determined that the the <br />Company employee is fit to return to duty. <br />Page 9 of 22 <br />
