South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - May 5, 1995 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />k. Commission approval requested for <br />Proposal for Professional Services in <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(Phase I Environmental Assessment) <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that we need to <br />have a Phase I environmental assessment <br />of the commercial properties we have <br />sent purchase offers to along Sample <br />Street east of Fellows. There are about <br />ten lots with four property owners. EIS <br />will perform the Phase I assessment for a <br />cost of $4,300 - $4,600. Envirocorp <br />will perform the work for $3,500. The <br />staff recommends accepting the proposal <br />from Envirocorp. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded <br />by Mr. Hojnacki and unanimously <br />carried, the Commission accepted the <br />proposal from Envirocorp for a Phase I <br />environmental assessment in the Sample - <br />Ewing Development Area. <br />1. Commission approval requested for <br />Proposal for Construction Services in <br />the Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />(815 S. Lafayette) <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that when the Fire <br />Fighters Federal Credit Union purchased <br />and moved the former Policemen's <br />Federal Credit Union building, they left <br />the basement hole that is our <br />responsibility to fill. Torok Excavating <br />has submitted a proposal to do the work <br />for $2,000. The staff recommends <br />accepting the proposal. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, <br />seconded by Mr. Hunt and unanimously <br />carried, the Commission accepted the <br />-13- <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL <br />FROM ENVIROCORP FOR A PHASE I <br />ENVIRONMENTAL EASEMENT IN THE <br />SAMPLE -EWING DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />COMMISSION APPROVED PROPOSAL FROM <br />TOROK EXCAVATING FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />
