South Bend Redevelopment Commission
gular Meeting - January 20, 1995
6. NEW BUSEWSS (Cont.)
a. continued...
changes as South Bend has moved
toward being a model city. I saw many
changes at close range in fourteen years
as vice president and president of the
Area Plan Commission and three years
as chairman of the Board of Zoning
Appeals and three years on the Notre
Dame Spite Museum Mends Board
where I served as chairman of the
Corporate Committee. These
participative activities were very
rewarding and have given me great
satisfaction. I have found the staff of the
Economic Development Department very
competent and a pleasure with whom to
work. I greatly admire and support Joe
Kernan for his enlightening and strong
leadership of our city. Again, thank you
and, if I can again serve the City of
South Bend in some capacity, please call
on me.
Sincerely yours,
Theo F. Sharp
Ms. Auburn stated that the Commission
enjoyed working with Mr. Sharp. She
noted that he spent hours each week
reading through the design documents.
He took personal interest in the
aesthetics of the Commission's activities,
including signage and the East Race
Walkway. She expressed the hope that
Mr. Sharp would continue to pass his
design ideas along to Mr. Riggs and Mr.
Eddington.
-6-
