South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 21, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
p. continued...
property; 2) Redevelopment moving the
Ameritech conduit to the north end of the
property; 3) Redevelopment scraping and
hauling away concrete to match the north
and south adjacent lots; 4) Redevelopment
bringing water and sewer lines to within
four feet of the proposed foundation; and 5)
Redevelopment demolishing and filling in
the foundation at 815 S. Lafayette (former
Policemen's Federal Credit Union) to match
the grade level.
Mrs. Kolata reviewed the second proposal
which was from Champion Soft Water
Incorporated. Champion Soft Water
proposes to purchase Parcel 19 for $30,000
and construct a 5,000 square foot building to
consolidate their operations from two
locations. Details of their planned
development are not available yet since they
have just begun to plan the details of the
project, however they are currently talking
to builders. There are no conditions on this
proposal. They would not require moving
of utilities.
The staff has prepared a chart showing the
pros and cons of each proposal.
-5-
