South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 21, 1994
intend to expand their operations to include
bottling water once they are in the new
building. Mr. Pryor noted that they do not
want to fight with the Firefighter's Federal
Credit Union. They were encouraged to put
the proposal forward, although it was not
complete. They expect to begin construction
in the spring of 1995 and complete it by fall,
1995.
Mr. Sharp said that while he liked the idea
of the Firefighters Federal Credit Union
being located on that site, he was interested
in reducing the cost to Redevelopment. He
suggested that the Firefighters Federal
Credit Union go back and revise their
proposal to come up with a proposal that
reduces the cost to Redevelopment -
hopefully to nothing. He would be happy if
Redevelopment could break even.
Mr. Sharp made a motion to table action on
the proposals until the next week, asking the
Firefighters Federal Credit Union to go back
to their board and return with a revised
proposal that reduced the cost to
Redevelopment. Ms. Auburn seconded the
motion. Ms. Manier pointed out that both
proposals were still being considered. At
that point Mr. Pryor stated that they would
like to withdraw their proposal. Ms.
Auburn called the question and the motion
was passed.
Upon a motion by Mr. Sharp, seconded by COMMISSION TABLED ITEM 6.P.
Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the
Commission tabled item 6.p. and asked the
Firefighters Federal Credit Unoin to bring a
revised offer to the next Commission
meeting.
-12-
