South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 7, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
e. continued...
Mr. Sharp made a motion that the
Commission accept the proposal from
Western and Michigan Partners (Holladay
Corp.) for Parcel C9 -1 and C9 -2 in the
South Bend Central Development Area.
There was no second to the motion and the
motion died.
Mr. Donoho made a motion to give an
option on C9 -1 and C9 -2 to both Western
Avenue Partnership and Western and
Michigan Partners and make the award to
whichever of them was successful in their
proposal to the major tenant.
Mr. Sharp amended that motion adding the
condition that the successful bidder meet the
Commission's sales criteria for the property
value. Mr. Donoho accepted the
amendment to his motion, but indicated that
he did not have a problem with both
developer's condition that the performance
guarantee be refunded if their proposal was
not selected by the tenant.
Mr. Sharp seconded the motion as amended.
Ms. Manier suggested a clarification. She
felt it was the Commission's intent that the
award be made for the major tenant being
held confidential at this time and no other.
Mr. Donoho agreed that that was his intent.
Mrs. Kolata suggested setting a time limit of
April 1, 1995 for this option.
-21-
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL FROM
WESTERN AND MICHIGAN PARTNERS DIED
FOR LACK OF A SECOND
