South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 7, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
e. continued...
substantially leased. They are very
confident that if one project is done, the
other would be done. It is possible that both
would be done at the same time, but he
can't say for sure that it would be built or
when it would be built.
Mr. Sharp asked why the tenant doesn't
decide between these two proposals and then
that one can make an offer for the land.
Mrs. Kolata responded that the prospective
tenant has written a letter indicating that it
will only consider proposals from a
responsive bidder. In order to be
responsive, either one or both of them need
to show that they control the site. She also
noted that either or both will make their
proposal to the tenant under the assumption
that the Commission has accepted the
specifics of their proposal to the
Commission at this time. If the Commission
does not like any part of the proposals, it
should indicate that at this time.
Ms. Auburn indicated that the Commission
is very satisfied with both proposals as they
relate to design, site utilization, etc.
Mr. Piasecki made a motion that the
Commission accept the proposal from
Western Avenue Partnership (Panzica
Development) for Parcel C9 -1 and C9 -2 in
the South Bend Central Development Area.
There was no second to the motion and the
motion died.
-20-
MOTION TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL FROM
WESTERN AVENUE PARTNERSHIP DIED FOR
LACK OF A SECOND
