SOUTH OEMB-MiSHAWAKA <br />TO: Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: Alive With Pride Fundraising Committee <br />RE: Use of Wayne Street Garage Rooftop for Celebration <br />DATE: 15 March 1994 <br />I� <br />We are requesting use of the St. Joseph /Wayne Street parking garage for the following date: <br />10 June 1994. <br />The intent of the celebration is to increase community support in general and bring people to <br />the downtown area in a unique setting. The idea of utilizing the rooftop of the garage, <br />overlooking the city, is ideal. <br />The celebration would entail the presence of a band, food and alcohol. We are asking that <br />the Redevelopment Commission approve the date subject to Alive With Pride obtaining <br />insurance ( "special event "), and subject to AMPCO (as managers of the parking garages) <br />approving our request as well. <br />The celebration is similar to a "Meet Me on the Island" gathering. It would begin at 5:00 pm <br />and continue until about 11:00 pm. <br />With the garage being approximately 70 - 75 % occupied, the upper levels are not utilized <br />and therefore we would not need to displace any parkers in the garage on the day of the <br />event.
