South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - March 4, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
f. continued...
Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded
by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved the Loan in connection
with the West Washington Rehab Loan
Program for property located at 931 W.
LaSalle.
g. Commission approval requested for
Amendment No. 3 to Contract with The
Troyer Group for professional engineering
services in the Studebaker Corridor portion
of the Sample-Ewing g evelopment Area.
Mrs. Kolata explained that The Troyer Group
was previously commissioned to perform a
capital improvements study and
recommendations for the Studebaker
Corridor. They have also provided
construction specifications for several
projects. This Amendment to Contract
engages The Troyer Group to provide
construction specifications for curbs and
sidewalks for the block bounded by Indiana,
Lafayette, Broadway and Main. This is the
block that contains American Medical
Oxygen, Old Fort Building Supply, and The
Ridge Company. The curbs and sidewalks in
that block are deplorable. With the new
investment by American Medical Oxygen and
Old Fort, the staff recommends preparing the
construction drawings to replace the curb and
sidewalk there. The proposal is for a not to
exceed fee of $10,350. They expect their
actual costs will be closer to $8,000, but the
NTE is based on a percentage (7.2 %) of the
proposed construction cost. Engineering has
-9-
COMMISSION APPROVED THE LOAN IN
CONNECTION WITH THE WEST
WASHINGTON REHAB LOAN PROGRAM FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 931 W. LASALLE
