South Bend Redevelopment Commission
7egular Meeting - February 4, 1994
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
c. continued...
9) As of 10:00 a.m. on February 4, 1994, 1
written remonstrance was received.
Ms. Auburn asked if there were any
objections to entering the items into the
record of the Public Hearing on Resolution
No. 1222. There were no objections and the
items were so entered.
Mr. Larry Magliozzi outlined the
Development Plan for the Sample -Ewing
Development Area. The plan is essentially
the same as was considered previously,
except that it incorporates at Exhibit B to the
Sample -Ewing Development Plan a list of
properties to be acquired in the Sample -
Ewing Development Area. When the
Redevelopment Commission previously
considered the Plan, the acquisition list was
considered at a later date as a proposed
amendment to the Plan.
The new redevelopment area combines two
existing redevelopment areas, the Studebaker
Corridor Development Area and the Rum
Village Industrial Park, with adjacent
residential areas to their east to create the
Sample -Ewing Development Area. The new
development area is approximately 2,400
acres. It is sub - divided into five sub -areas
for planning purposes: the Rum Village
Industrial District, the Studebaker Corridor,
the Indiana - Sample Industrial Corridor, Rum
Village Neighborhood, and the Southeast
Neighborhood.
C„ -9-
