NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued... <br />homeowner, if they want to come meet with <br />us here or whether they want us in their <br />home. If somebody says, "Come out and <br />look at my piece of property, we'll go out <br />and look at their piece of property. That's <br />up to the individual. But in response to how <br />do we negotiate, we send you an offer based <br />on our appraisals. You either agree with it <br />or you disagree with it. If you disagree <br />with it, you should make a counter offer. <br />The Commission will make a determination <br />as to whether they feel that that is a <br />reasonable counter offer or not. And what <br />are they basing that on? They are basing it <br />on their expert appraisers and some <br />judgement on their part and information <br />provided by each homeowner. I can't sit <br />here and say it happens this way or that <br />way. It happens in the negotiating process. <br />All our purchase offer does is say "this is <br />what we're offering you for your property. " <br />You have to respond to that. At that point <br />we'll start talking to the individuals. If you <br />want us to come out to your home, we'll do <br />that. Some people don't want us to and we <br />don't. But Hedy, as part of relocation, does <br />go into many people's homes and does work <br />with them on a personal basis. <br />Ms AUBURN: Again, I want to say, that there <br />are other meetings and individual meetings <br />with Hedy and with Gabriel to answer <br />technical kinds of questions. That is not the <br />purpose of today's public hearing. I'm <br />going to try to watch our time a little bit and <br />still give everybody an opportunity to be <br />heard.
