South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - September 3, 1993
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
C. continued...
Mrs. Kolata explained that the Alexander
Company is moving forward with the project
for the Opelika Building. They want to
apply for tax abatement. Since the
Commission is still the owner of the
property the petition must be signed by the
Commission on their behalf.
Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded
by Mr. Sharp and unanimously carried, the
Commission authorized submission of tax
abatement petition on behalf of the
Alexander Companies.
d. Commission authorization requested for
Redevelopment Director to sign documents
related to replats of land owned by the
Commission in designated Redevelopment
Areas.
Mrs. Kolata explained that we intend to sell
only the Opelika Building to the Alexander
Company and lease them the land
surrounding the building. In order to do
that, we need either a replat or a minor
subdivision. This letter would authorize the
Redevelopment Director to sign the
documents when they are ready. However,
rather than seek authorization for each
project that requires a replat, the letter gives
authorization until the end of 1994.
Upon a motion by Mr. Sharp, seconded by
Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the
Commission authorized the Redevelopment
Director to sign documents related to replats
of land owned by the Commission in
designated Redevelopment Areas.
in
COMMISSION AUTHORIZED SUBMISSION OF
TAX ABATEMENT PETITION ON BEHALF OF
THE ALEXANDER COMPANIES
COMMISSION AUTHORIZED THE
REDEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO SIGN
DOCUMENTS RELATED TO REPLATS OF
LAND OWNED BY THE COMMISSION IN
DESIGNATED REDEVELOPMENT AREAS
