South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - September 3, 1993 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />g continued... <br />will obtain insurance. The celebration <br />would begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue to <br />approximately 11:00 p.m. The staff <br />recommends approving this request, subject <br />to meeting all city requirements. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Sharp, seconded by <br />Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the use of the St. <br />Joseph/Wayne Parking Facility by the Alive <br />With Pride Fundraising Committee. <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that just this morning Mayor <br />Kernan announced the opening of Quality Drive <br />from Brick Road into the Accuride Plant. The <br />road was financed through a grant of $175,000 <br />from the Indiana Department of Commerce, <br />$152,000 from tax increment financing in the <br />Airport Economic Development Area, and <br />$22,500 from Landmark Industrial Park. The <br />press release noted that in 1992 Airport 2010 <br />projects saw $31,000,000 started and completed <br />and created 252 new manufacturing jobs and <br />370,000 square feet of new construction. In the <br />first eight months of 1993 the -Airport 2010 <br />project has over $41,000,000 in projects started <br />and announced which have or will create 770 new <br />manufacturing jobs and 540,000 square feet of <br />new construction. <br />8. NEXT COMMISSION MEETING <br />The next Regular Meeting of the Redevelopment <br />Commission is scheduled for September 17, 1993 <br />at 10:00 a.m. <br />spa <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE USE OF THE <br />ST.
