NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />L continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Sharp, seconded by <br />COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE <br />PROPOSAL FROM PEIRCE AND <br />Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />ASSOCIATES FOR SURVEY WORK IN <br />Commission accepted the proposal from <br />THE SAMPLE -EWING DEVELOPMENT <br />Peirce and Associates for survey work in the <br />AREA AT A COST OF $12,300 FOR THE <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area at a cost of <br />FIRST 79 PARCELS AND $112 EACH FOR <br />$12,300 for the first 79 parcels and $112 each <br />THE REMAINING PARCELS <br />for the remaining parcels. <br />k. Commission approval requested for use of the <br />Morris Civic Plaza by the South Bend <br />Regional Museum of Art and the City of <br />South Bend Department of Community <br />Affairs on &1y 2. 3, and 4. 1993. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that the South Bend <br />Office of Community Affairs and the South <br />Bend Regional Museum of Art both would <br />like to use the Morris Civic Plaza July 2, 3, <br />and 4 during the Ethnic Festival. The Ethnic <br />Festival Committee is expanding into this area <br />with a Jazz Blues entertainment stage and <br />they will have continuous entertainment <br />during the hours of the festival. In addition, <br />the South Bend Regional Museum of Art will <br />be hosting a program called the Un- gallery, <br />featuring an open air art exhibition, hands on <br />art projects, music, and performance. They <br />have come to an agreement on sharing the <br />area during this time and have submitted a <br />joint letter requesting its use. The Ethnic <br />Festival will provide security during festival <br />hours, limited security during overnight <br />hours, trash collection and pick -up, in <br />addition to providing the performance stage. <br />The performers from the Un -gallery will <br />-57- <br />
