South Bend Redevelopment Commission
pecial Meeting - October 26, 1992
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
b. continued...
Therefore, the cost of the abatement will
be approximately $91,040 over the six
year period.
Mr. Szarwark noted that North American
Signs does work nationwide. It is a good
member of the community, bringing money
into the area and providing good jobs.
Ms. Auburn declared a conflict of
interest on this item.
Mr. Faccenda noted that he no longer has
a business connection to Barnes &
Thornburg and did not have a conflict of
interest.
Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded
by Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried,
the Commission approved Resolution No.
1110 approving an application for real
property tax deduction for property
located at 3601 Lathrop Street in the
Airport Economic Development Area.
(P.A.I. Properties) Ms. Auburn did not
vote.
a. Staff report on bid submitted for Parcel
20 in the Studebaker Corridor Development
Area.
Mr. Pocius noted that the Policemen's
Federal Credit Union was the only bidder
on Parcel 20. They currently operate a
2,000 square foot facility at 815 S.
Lafayette Boulevard. The City has
recently purchased their property as part
of the Studebaker Corridor
revitalization. Although the credit
union is an appropriate use of land in
the Studebaker Corridor and the present
building itself is a nice building, it is
located within a seven acre parcel of
cleared land. Its location would
-_ interfere with the disposition of the
large parcels surrounding it.
-3-
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION
NO. 1110 APPROVING AN APPLICATION
FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION
FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3601
LATHROP STREET IN THE AIRPORT
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AREA (P.A.I.
PROPERTIES)
