South Bend evelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - May 10, 1991 <br />e. <br />f. <br />Mrs Kolata noted that Mr. Norris met <br />witli John Oxian and Jim Pastor of <br />Historic Preservation and Todd Zieger of <br />Historic Landmarks Foundation, touring <br />the buildings along the 1200 and 1300 <br />blocks of West Washington. They wanted <br />to identify architecturally significant <br />iteds which could be salvaged. They were <br />intixested in salvaging from two <br />buildings in particular: the terra cotta <br />fa de of the former Slutzky -Feltz office <br />and the tudor style building on the <br />no west corner of West Washington and <br />WalAut. The Commission has not closed on <br />the Slutzky - Peltz building yet, so that <br />salvage will not be done until the <br />Ccm.assion purchases the property. <br />Sou old Restoration will be responsible <br />for the salvage effort. Ms. Manier will <br />prelkare waivers for the workers. The <br />staff recc mnends approval of this <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Combs, seconded by <br />Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />'ssion accepted the staff report and <br />recxxmiendation that Scuthhold Restoration <br />be lowed to salvage properties in the <br />West Washington - Chapin Development Area. <br />Mrsl Kolata noted that Dan Pierotti has <br />bemi the consultant for the Entertainment <br />District. This proposal is an extension <br />of his contract for a twelve month <br />period, beginning March 1 at the rate of <br />$2,167 per month. That fee includes <br />ordinary reimbursable expenses, including <br />moni hlY trips to South Bend for one or <br />two day work sessions.
