NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. conzinuea... <br />were some difficulties in agreeing or in <br />having a satisfactory negotiation, so we <br />decided to participate and sit down. <br />People from our board have met with Larry <br />a uple of times. I think Gladys <br />and Sherry Shane met with him to <br />get Mr. Williams side of the story, his <br />persj�ective on it, and our board, in <br />addition to that, met with Mr. Williams <br />and representatives from the Board of <br />Directors of the Historical Society. So <br />our organization has played an active <br />role in opening up a dialogue to make <br />sure Mr. Williams is getting a fair <br />In addition to that, the WWCRP is <br />in support of the development of the <br />museum. We do want to say that. The <br />firu Ll vote, and I think the way that <br />pro ect was left, was for the Historical <br />Soc ety to ca mnxnicate with Mr. Williams <br />and within a certain amount of time, to <br />try to renegotiate a purchase so that we <br />wouldn't have to go through the <br />redevelopment process as we are today. <br />It's our understanding that an agreement <br />has not been reached and our board did <br />vote to pursue with eminent domain <br />red velcpment process so that we could <br />force some kind of negotiation. We are <br />very aware of the fact that Mr. Williams <br />has been trying to negotiate, <br />unsuccessfully. We did try to play some <br />kind of mediation role and we were not <br />su=essful in doing that to this point. <br />There has been neighborhood participation <br />in this issue. <br />MRS AUBURN: Is there anyone else who <br />wo d like to be addressed on the public <br />h ing portion? <br />MR.
