NEW BUSDNESS (Cont.) <br />h. continued... <br />Mr. Nussbaum noted that we are well on <br />our way to securing the 2500 season <br />tic t subscriptions. <br />The stadium currently seats 5,000 <br />patrons. It was built with the capacity <br />to add a second deck of seating by <br />raising the roof. However, the cost <br />estpate for that type of expansion was <br />$4. - $5 million and was deemed too <br />cos y. The current proposal is to add <br />ad tional seating dawn each foul line, <br />tot lling the additional 5,000 seats. <br />Thi method of expansion is estimated to <br />cos $2 million. <br />The Triple -A expansion cemrmittee is <br />asking the cities which do not have <br />10,000 seating capacity to commit in <br />writing that they will expand their <br />stadium to seat 10,000 if they should be <br />a ed a Triple -A expansion team. <br />We i ould like to present to the Triple -A <br />ion committee three resolutions, <br />fra i the Redevelopment Authority, the <br />Redevelopment Commission, and the South <br />Berd Conmion Council stating that they <br />will. expand Stanley Coveleski Stadium to <br />10,000 seats if South Bend is awarded a <br />Tri. le-A team.
