South Bend
Regular Me
C
e.
iif
9.
elopment Commission
- March 8, 1991
(Cont.)
Mrs Kolata noted that there is no report
at this time. Item 6.e. was deleted from
the agenda.
Mrs. Kolata explained that we received a
letter from John Oxian of the Near
Northwest Neighborhood stating that they
would be interested in salvaging
materials such as doors, fixtures, and
wootwork from Commission owned properties
schEduled for demolition in the
Studebaker Corridor Development Area. We
contacted other not-for-profit groups to
see if they were interested. The Near
Northwest Neighborhood group was the only
one interested. The staff believes that
this is a reasonable request and
reccmwzxls that the Commission approve
it. The salvaging would have to be
coozdinated with any asbestos removal and
would have to be done before the
demolition contractors bid on the work.
They will also be required to indemnify
the Commission for any injury they might
in during salvage.
Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded
by 11r. Dohono and unanimously carried,
the Commission approved the request of
the Near Northwest Neighborhood to
sal ge properties in the Studebaker
Cor#idor Development Area.
-5-
ITEM 6.E.
