South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting January 11, 1991
6. NEW BUSINESS
g. continued...
h.
Cent ral Development Area TIF data base to
reflect the tax information from the 1990
reassessment and to perform some analysis
r our financial position since
the reassessment. The proposal has
it 'zed the services that would be
provided and the cost of each service.
The total amount of the contract as
prorosed is $8,170. If we need services
over and above those provided for in the
contxact, Springsted will change an
ho ly rate. No completion date is
specified in the contract, but most of
the work will be done within the next
cou le of weeks.
Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded
by Mr. Combs and unanimously carried, the
Com tission approved the contract with
Springsted, Inc. to provide financial
services as stated in the proposal letter
rel ted to the TIF Data Base for the
South Bend Central Development Area.
Mr. Pocius explained that Cole Associates
has requested a change in the contract
amount as a result of additional testing
of the wood floor in the Transwestern
Building due to rule changes by the
Indiana Department of Environmental
gement (IDEM). The contract would be
increased by approximately $3,500. Mr.
Poc'us noted that the testing of the
floor was an important item in
detExmining the specifications for
demolition of the building. The
additional testing resulted in the
altering of the specifications so that a
savings of more than $400,000 would be
realized by disposing of the wood floor
as special waste instead of as a
hazalrdous waste.
-7-
