South Bend euelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - October 26, 1990
6. NEW BUSVESS (Cont.)
a. cominuea...
pro ect in seeing our properties listed
on 1he list of acquisitions so I
certainly would not like the Can ission
to pontinue with those properties that we
have possession and ownership of listed
as Ootential acquisitions on the list.
Mr.
Rid
are
lis
25
thi
rig]
rev
at
by
bui
to
whe
S. ]
wer
bec
sem
the
the
Bec
peq
new
bui:
thr
15'
is ,
dam
wit
an i
Howard Goodhew, representing the
e Company at 1535 S. Main St. You
interested in purchasing properties
ed as block No. 10, parcels 3,4, and
ind I've spoken to the staff about
. The parcels were formerly the
t-of- -way for the railroad and
to us under easement reversion
he time the railroad tracks were
oned. The parcels no. 3 & 25 are
for employee parking. We have 60
oyees at this location and without
ing we have no place to park those
le. Parcel no. 4 is a triangular
ed piece of property which was owned
as long as we've owned our
ding. That is being used as access
ur truck loading docks. Formerly,
we purchased our building at 1535
in St., we had loading docks that
entered from Main St. This then
me a state highway. And these larger
s, in order to get into our docks,
would have to go up on the curb of
UAW hall and caused damage there.
use of the complaints of these
le, which were justified, we built
loading docks on the west side of our
ding which are accessible only
ugh this parcel no. 4. We have about
o 20 trucks a day. If this property
cquired it will result in substantial
ges to our property. I verified this
appraisers that you would be paying
xtremely high price for a rather
1 parcel of land.
-18-
