South Bend evelopment Commission regular Mee ing - March 9, 1990 6. NEW BUSE FSS (Cont.) 7. f. Mrs. Kolata noted that Parcel C9 -1 is the parking lot immediately north of the former Inwoods store. Parcel C9 -2 is the parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Western Avenue. They are currently beirg leased to Center City Associates who may sublease them to other entities for parking. The lease for the lot north of Inwoods requires a six month notice of termination. The Main/Western lot req4ires a 60 day notice of termination. Mrs. Kolata noted that the staff is currently working with someone who is interested in putting together a proposal for an office building at that location. Since the one parcel requires a six month notice, we would like to give that notice at this time so it does not hinder the development prospect. Upon a motion by Mr. Piasecki, seconded by Vs. Auburn and unanimously carried, the Connission authorized the staff to give notice of termination of lease to Center City Associates for Parcels C9 -1 and -2. PRO=S REPORTS Mrs. Kol to noted that Mr. Daniel Pierotti, our consLiltant for the Entertairmient District, is in town for the first of his monthly visits to South Bend. He would like to let tie Commission know what he will be doing uroer the new contract. Mr. Pierotti reported that he is hoping to see a gruid reopening of the Palais Royale ballroom and a restored Morris Civic Auditorimn in late 1992. He has been working with the staff to set a schedule in three areas: 1 acquisition of the Palais Royale, 2) devel ping an organizational structure for the manaaoement of the property, and 3) develop#q funding sources for the project.
