* Maintains appropriate internal control, to safeguard Entertainment <br />District assets <br />* Provides supportive activity, information and staff time to the <br />Board's fundraising efforts <br />* Negotiates all artist, artistic organization and outside promoter <br />contracts <br />Description of Relationships- <br />* Serves at the Board's pleasure <br />* Reports all matter of policy to the Board or its appropriate <br />committees for action <br />* Directs the activities of all staff and is responsible for the <br />evaluation of their performance and development <br />* Represents the Entertainment District to the city, county, state <br />and federal government in matters affecting the arts enterprise <br />* Represents the Entertainment District to the public, civic, <br />educational and corporate family of South Bend <br />Measures of Accountability- <br />* Increase participation of the wider community in the <br />Entertainment District program <br />* Increase of external funding <br />• Submit plans, budgets and periodic reports on time as established <br />at the beginning of each fiscal year <br />• Maintains a balanced budget <br />* Accomplishes objectives established in the annual program plan <br />and budget <br />* Maintains a happy and fruitful relationship with the volunteers and <br />volunteer organizations <br />It has been said that "without volunteers an arts organization is just a good <br />idea." We support this notion whole - heartedly and recommend that a <br />formal structure, staff and program be put in place to provide for volunteer <br />service and support to the Entertainment District, as soon as possible. <br />(See Section II, D, 6) <br />1WkC <br />
