All Commissioners <br />present indicated that they were willing <br />to support the staff reccmuendation to <br />exclude Edgewater Place from the <br />e=ansion area. <br />Ms. Auburn indicated her support for the <br />staff to meet with residents of the <br />neicihborhood to try to address the common <br />issues. She noted that it is difficult <br />to kelance all of the different needs as <br />the Commission tries to move the city <br />fonrctrd. She expressed her appreciation <br />for the Edgewater Neighborhood residents <br />who took the time to attend the meeting. <br />Mr. Nimtz asked if there was a spokesman <br />frcmi the neighborhood who would like to <br />address the Commission. Mr. Larry <br />DeI elle indicated that he was the <br />spo for the neighborhood and would <br />likd to address the Commission. <br />Mr.jDeZaruelle read for the record the <br />fol owing letter: <br />F. Jay Nimtz <br />President <br />City of South Bend <br />Redevelopment Commission <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />We, the residents of Edgewater Place <br />Historic District neighborhood are <br />opposed to the inclusion of our <br />neighborhood in Expansion Area Number 2 <br />of the South Bend Central Development <br />Area. Based on information provided by <br />Redevelopment Staff at a Wednesday, <br />October 18, 1989 meeting with us, we are <br />unconvinced that our inclusion provides <br />any significant benefit to either the <br />City or our neighborhood. <br />6- 4 <br />
