Presentation of Co=rehensive PRESENTATION OF THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />Neighborhood Preservation and Development NEIGHBORHOOD PRESERVATION AND <br />Plan for the Near Westside Nei rhood. DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE NEAR <br />WESTSIDE NEIGHBORHOOD <br />In the absence of David Norris, Project <br />Manager for the West Washington/Chapin <br />neighborhood, Pamela Meyer introduced the <br />vre sentation. <br />Ms.1 Meyer: I am going to read from notes PAMELA MEYER <br />that Dave left me. I'm sure he is here <br />in spirit. <br />The reason we are meeting here tonight is <br />a result of a partnership between the <br />neighborhood and the City which was begun <br />in 1986. The Plan to be presented <br />tor 'ght is the result of nearly a year of <br />effort, numerous meetings, differences of <br />opinions, and compromise. As it will be <br />e3qlained to you later in greater detail, <br />th plan is the result of a process of <br />co building among all parties <br />olved, with the neighborhood residents <br />playing a major role in final <br />recamaiendations in the Plan. The <br />decisions required to develop these <br />reconmierklations were not always easy to <br />Our department has worked closely <br />with the members of the West <br />W n- Chapin Revitalization Project, <br />(WWCRP) throughout the entire <br />process. We support the plan for <br />revitalization of the West <br />Washington-Chapin neighborhood you are <br />abcut to hear. I would like to introduce <br />you now to Carl Works, who is a resident <br />of the neighborhood and a member of the <br />WCPP Board, who will begin the formal <br />prelsentation of the Plan. <br />-4- <br />
