I' d like to reintroduce Carl Works. He is final speaker and will give some up comments. Thank you. Works: Thank you Jeff. For the CARL WORKS rd, I am Carl Works. I am an Indiana r estate broker. I maintain offices at 28 E. South Street in the City of S Bend. I'm also a very proud resident, along with my wife and son who are present, of the Near Westside, at 1115 Thomas Street. As you have heard tonight, there are, of course, large problems on the Near Westside. That's v well known. But, there are also, as is evident by our overwhelming support thrmghout the community, large assets. And the largest of those are the people tha live there, the people who live them and love it, that want there to be a jor change in the west side. I don't thiik anybody is not in agreement with tha . And as a part of that, we've been inv lved in planning now for two years: pla ming, planning, and more planning. We' a looked at what has happened to the N Westside over the past thirty years, loo oed at the successes and all the fai , -ures and tried to incorporate the su and address the failures. As a result of that planning, there is new excitement and new hope for the future on the Near Westside. We've looked at housing. We're providing good decent h ing for moderate income families, not onl on the west side, but for people tha are in the other areas of the City -20-
