Kolata noted that as a result of Ms. <br />urn's conflict of interest with the <br />ims from the February 10th meeting, <br />vote needed to be ratified at this <br />tins. <br />LIpon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded by <br />Mr. Combs and unanimously carried, the <br />ammission ratified the claims approved <br />at the February 24, 1989 meeting. Ms. <br />ALturn abstained from voting. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that the Commission had <br />authorized survey and title work in the <br />Monroe Park portion of the South Bend <br />Central Development Area in connection <br />with its intent to acquire property <br />th The survey and title work are <br />n ly complete. We would like to begin <br />th appraisal process. <br />Two appraisals are required for each <br />piece of property. The four estimates <br />received were from Hoover Appraisal <br />Seivice, a residential appraiser, R.E. <br />McCloskey and Associates, Jerome E. <br />Mic haels and Ralph D. Lauver. R. E. <br />McCloskey indicated that he would have a <br />idential appraiser from his company do <br />the appraisals. Jerome Michaels did not <br />a& ress that issue. Ralph Lauver would <br />do the appraisals himself. Mrs. Kolata <br />noted that since all of the appraisals <br />were of vacant lots or residences, it was <br />not necessary to pay for the expertise of <br />a comnercial and industrial appraiser. <br />The Hoover Appraisal Service estimate was <br />$100 per vacant lot, $200 for a living <br />unit, and $25 for each each additional <br />-3- <br />CMUSSION RATIFIED THE CLAIMS <br />APPROVED AT TBE FEBRUARY 24, 1985 <br />YEETING <br />
