NEW "INE.SS (Cont.) <br />a. c oncinuea.. . <br />0 <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Auburn, seconded by <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission aproved the Cc mznity <br />Development Program Contract, CD89 -601, <br />in the amount of $199,400 for <br />R velopment administrative costs <br />rel ted to project management. <br />Mr. Cronk asked what projects were being <br />Amded with these administrative funds. <br />Mrs. Kolata responded that they cover <br />operating costs of the department: staff <br />salaries, postage, etc., so that the <br />sta f is available to work on the <br />Red elcpment projects. <br />Mr. Cronk asked if the Commission <br />approves all Economic Development <br />policy. Mrs. Kolata responded that the <br />Comrassion only sets policy for <br />Redevelopment areas. He was particularly <br />t ted in the policy of land <br />Mrs. Kolata responded that the <br />aintains a policy of land banking <br />where the department has, or <br />ates making, a redevelopment <br />eff rt. They request that the City not <br />sell property in those areas until <br />def' Lnite plans for the area are <br />Mrs Kolata noted that with the sale of <br />two parcels of land for development in <br />the East Bank which were formerly used <br />for parking and East Race staging, we <br />wo d like to make some other <br />arrangements for East Bank parking and <br />East Race staging. The Redevelopment <br />'Commission owns the property between <br />Seitz Park and The Wharf restaurant.
