OLD BCSDTESS (Cont.)
b. tinued...
Ling Committee had already been
by the Mayor.
Mrs. lata requested permission to add
item 6.i. to the agenda, a contract
be the Redevelopment Ca miission and
Daniel L. Pierotti and Company. Mr. Nimtz
asked if there were any objections. There
were none and item 6.i. was added to the
agenda
a.
Kolata noted that at the August
12 Commission meeting the Commission
approved an application for three
yezLrs of real property and five years
of personal property tax abatement for
Allied Products. At that time Mark
Kn ic, attorney for Allied Products
'cated that they would be
recipesting an exception to the
ozxm, iance which limits them to a three
yezr real property abatement based on
thE fact that no new jobs are to be
crE ated as a result of the real
prc perty improvements. Since Allied
cts would be ensuring the
retmtion of 400 jobs, they felt that
the investment warranted a six year
aba t. They met with the Human
Resources and Economic Development
Camnittee of the Common Council on
Aug t 22. The Council sent a letter
to rhe Commission indicating its
willingness to approve the six year
aba ement for the real property if the
Commission approved the request.
Mr. Krcmaric of Barnes and Thornburg,
explained Allied Products
-5-
