South Bend Re evelopment Commission <br />Regular Sched led Meeting - May 13, 1988 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />b. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 844, a Resolution of the <br />estimates <br />ications, <br />1r-v. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that the packet <br />contained both the resolution and an <br />Agenq7 Agreement. The Agency Agreement <br />was provided for the Commissioners' <br />information only, since the Commission is <br />not a party to the Agreement. The <br />Agreoient is between the Redevelopment <br />Authority and the Board of Public Works. <br />The final plans for the parking garage, <br />prepared by Walker Parking Consultants, <br />are ready to be filed. The Commission is <br />being asked to accept them prior to <br />filing and to appoint the Board of Public <br />Works as the Commission's agent for <br />appro ing any modifications necessary as <br />the work progresses. <br />Mr. NLmtz asked about the schedule for <br />recei t of bids and the Redevelopment <br />Autho ity's sale of bonds. Mrs. Kolata <br />respo ded that the Board of Public Works <br />will receive construction bids on June <br />13, The Local Property Tax Control Board <br />will conduct a hearing on June 16. <br />Folloving that hearing, the bond process <br />will Degin using the actual bid numbers. <br />The nd sale is expected to be the end <br />of Ju Y. <br />Ms. Auburn expressed concern that there <br />might not be enough time for contractors <br />to prepare a bid, and we would, <br />therefore, not receive enough bids for <br />them to be competetive. Mrs. Kolata <br />responded that the bid packets will be <br />ready on May 20. That will allow <br />approximately three weeks for them to put <br />a bid together. The Board of Works feels <br />that three weeks is an adequate amount of <br />time. That schedule is necessary to meet <br />the J e 16 Tax Board meeting.
