South Bend edevelopment Commission <br />Annual Org izational Meeting - January 4, 1988 <br />5. SET REGJLAR MEETING TIMES FOR 1987 (Cont.) <br />Commiss'on will be held on the 2nd and 4th <br />Fridays of each month at 10:00 a.m. local <br />time. <br />Mr. Hun observed that 1987 was a good year PROGRESS REPORTS <br />for the Commission, the Department, and the <br />community. We completed the reopening of <br />Michigai Street from Colfax to Western Avenue, <br />the Cen ury Center /Marriott Skywalk, and <br />Coveles i Stadium. <br />He noted that the push in 1988 will be to <br />realize some major development in the East <br />Bank area. Construction of the parking garage <br />at St. Joseph and Wayne Streets, as well as <br />construction of the office projects across <br />from th Marriott Hotel and Century Center, . <br />should lso take place. <br />Mr. Hwit noted that the TIF legislation with <br />the loss of the property tax replacement <br />credit Will be a substantial problem for us. <br />The State Theatre a and the vacant Penny's <br />and Robertson's Buildings continue to be a <br />challen e. We will address these issues in <br />1988. <br />7. ADJOUPdZ ENT <br />The next.
