(Continued... <br />the Notice to Taxpayers Regarding <br />Determination to Issue Bonds of the <br />City of South Bend Redevelopment <br />District was published in the <br />Tri- County News on November 13 and <br />November 20, 1987 <br />3. An affidavit from Hedy Robinson <br />stating that she did post a Notice <br />of Determination to Issue Bonds in <br />the lobby of the County -City <br />Building, the lobby of the Post <br />Office and the lobby of the South <br />end Public Library on November 12, <br />1987. <br />Mr. imtz asked if there was any <br />objection to these items being entered <br />into the record. There was none and the <br />items were entered into the record. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that there were no <br />wri en remonstrances received as of <br />10:00 a.m. November 27, 1987. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that this bond is a <br />tax increment revenue bond for the South <br />Bend Central Development Area in the <br />amou,rit of $1.8 million. The proceeds <br />from the bonds will be used for (1) <br />public works improvements throughout the <br />area, primarily in the Niles Avenue area, <br />to create better lighting, angle street <br />parking, sidewalk and curb improvements <br />and widening of a portion of the street; <br />(2) public improvements at Union Station <br />to a low for railroad passenger service; <br />(3) cquisition of some vacant lots in <br />Monroe Park; (4) pedestrian walkways in <br />the East Bank area; (5) improvements to <br />some Redevelopment-owned parking lots <br />whic have not been improved. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that it is expected <br />that the bonds will be sold in January; <br />ther fore, they will be 1988 bonds. <br />Qc12 <br />
