South Bend
Regular Me,
elopment Commission
- August 14, 1987
4. COMMUNICIATIONS (Cont.)
a. uonQlnuea...
Dear Mr. Nimtz:
The Board of Directors of the
Housing Development Corporation
(HDC) of Saint Joseph County has
recently established parameters
concerning Board size and
composition and is in the process of
recruiting four new Board members.
All HDC activities are administered
through its Board, with the staff
for the HDC being the Bureau of
Housing staff. Essentially, the HDC
was formed to bring together members
of the community with housing
expertise to serve as a catalyst in
the development of housing
opportunities for low and moderate
income individuals.
It is in the pursuit of gathering
the individuals with housing
expertise, that we come to the
Redevelopment Commission in search
of an appointment to the HDC Board.
The Redevelopment Commission has
served and continues to serve as the
approval body for a number of
housing programs in our city. Thus,
the addition to our Board of a
Commission Member would enhance the
programmatic and administrative
oversight function of the Baord, as
well as provide a historical
perspective to our planning efforts
and program development. In
addition, we would be proud to have
a member from as august a body as
the Redevelopment Commission join
with us in our housing efforts.
Should you have any questions, or
need any further information, please
feel free to contact Kathy
Baumgartner or myself.
-3-
