They will be contracted to do <br />a study of the entire site as well as of <br />sev n specific buildings in the Corridor. <br />Shetland Properties Building, <br />Tra swestern Building, Avanti Motors <br />Bui ding, Standard Surplus Building, <br />Sou h Bend Warehouse, and the old Foundry <br />Bui ding. They are the most <br />and r- utilized buildings. <br />The University of Michigan team is an <br />interdisciplinary group who will do a <br />very comprehensive analysis of these <br />buildings and their relationship to the <br />total site, what their strengths and <br />weaknesses are, what types of tenants <br />might be interested in them, what tax <br />laws we might be able to take advantage <br />of, and will give specific ideas on <br />renovation and the costs of <br />reno ation /reconstruction. <br />Mr. Hunt noted that we would like to <br />organize a technical advisory committee <br />to 1 ok at the problems in the Studebaker <br />Corridor and make recommendations about <br />what should be done about those problems. <br />Mr. ocius indicated that the draft of <br />the inal report would be available to <br />the ity in June and the final report <br />read by early August. <br />The otal cost of the study will be <br />$35, 22.95 which is a substantial <br />redu tion from the original proposal. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Donoho, seconded by <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the contract with the <br />Architecture and Planning Research <br />Laboratory of the University of Michigan <br />for 4 feasibility study in the Studebaker <br />-5- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE ARCHITECTURE AND PLAN- <br />NING LABORATORY'OF THE UNIVERSITY <br />OF MICHIGAN FOR A FEASIBILITY' <br />STUDY IN THE STUDEBAKER CORRIDOR <br />
