Sulok <br />Metro Editor <br />Mr. Hunt noted that the Open Meeting Law <br />requires that notification be mailed to the <br />press 48 hours prior to the time of the <br />Commission meeting. While the notice of the <br />rescheduled November 7th Commission was mailed <br />prior to the forty -eight hour requirement, it <br />reached the South Bend Tribune offices after <br />the Novenber 7th meeting. The Redevelopment <br />staff will make every effort to avoid a <br />recurrence of this situation and will notify <br />the press by telephone if notices of <br />rescheduled or additional Commission meetings <br />are likely to be received late. Ms. Derbeck <br />stated ttat the Tribune thought the law was <br />unclear as to whether notice needed to be <br />mailed or received 48 hours in advance of the <br />meeting. <br />Ms. Au b n acknowledged the receipt of the <br />leter fr the South Bend Tribune and placed <br />it on fi e. <br />5.
