Conftinued... <br />Co ration has announced plans to expand <br />their facility to the west. Redevelopment is <br />pre ently working with the Indiana Department <br />of rce to construct Kaley Street up from <br />Calvert Street to provide access to Mastic's <br />plant. As part of that project, the road <br />wou d be constructed with funds from the <br />Department of Commerce, a portion of which <br />wou d have to be paid back from tax increment <br />revenues generated from the area. Resolution <br />No. 783 requests that the boundaries be <br />ded to include the Mastic property in the <br />Rum Village Industrial Park. It would then <br />become part of the allocation area for the tax <br />increment financing aspects of the area, <br />although with a different frozen base date on <br />tha property then for the rest of Rum Village <br />Ind strial Park. <br />If approved by the Commission, Resolution No. <br />783 will be considered by the Area Plan <br />Cormiission, followed by the City Council with <br />final approval and public hearing by the <br />Connission on October 10th. <br />Upon a motion made Mr. Piasecki, seconded by <br />Mr. Combs and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 783 <br />rede laring the Rum Village Industrial Park to <br />be blighted, expanding the boundaries of the <br />area, declaring the expansion area to be <br />blig ted, expanding the allocation area for <br />pu ses of tax incremental financing and <br />reap roving the development plan. <br />Ms. Auburn noted for the record that she had a <br />conflict of interest and did not vote on <br />Resolution No. 783. <br />Ms. Schwartz stated that three votes were <br />needed to pass the resolution and asked Ms. <br />Aub n if the conflict was current contract <br />work Ms. Auburn noted that it was a past <br />working relationship with the Mastic <br />Corporation that had nothing to do with the <br />expansion. Ms. Auburn is not currently <br />working for Mastic Corporation.
