South Bend <br />Regular Me <br />6. NEW BU <br />c. Co. <br />elopmeht .Conmission <br />- July 25, 1986 <br />(Cont.) <br />This letter constitutes the request of the <br />Redevelopment Commission that the Board of <br />Public Works proceed to award the contracts <br />for the concrete and steel construction work <br />to permit the initiation of the stadium <br />construction at this time. The Redevelopment <br />Commission intends to make available proceeds <br />of the Redevelopment District Tax Increment <br />Revenue Bonds of 1985 in an amount not to <br />exceed Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000) <br />to ermit the award of these contracts. <br />It is the further understanding of the <br />Redevelopment Commission that the amount of <br />fun 5s expended for this construction will be <br />reimbursed to the Commission upon the <br />finalization of the financing with Security <br />Pac'fic National Bank. <br />We ould appreciate your acknowledging the <br />rec ipt of this letter and indicating your <br />con ent to this request. <br />you for your continued assistance. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jon R. Hunt <br />Executive Director <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Combs, seconded by <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission authorized the request to send a <br />letter to the City Engineer and President of <br />th Board of Public Works in regards to the <br />St ley Coveleski Regional Stadium <br />Mr. Hurt reported that after discussion with <br />the En ineering Department, the Department <br />Will be moving forward with the second phase <br />of the Michigan Street improvement project <br />this year. Bids will be let for the next two <br />blocks by about the end of August or early <br />Sept r. We hope to complete the first <br />block this year with the second block to be <br />completed in the spring of 1987. This will <br />complete the Michigan Street reopening phase <br />of the TIF capital improvement program for the <br />-5- <br />COMMISSION AUTHORIZED THE <br />REQUEST TO SEND A LETTER TO <br />THE CITY ENGINEER AND PRESIDENT <br />OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />IN REGARDS TO THE STANLEY <br />COVELESKI REGIONAL STADIUM <br />P I _: -* <br />
