South Bend <br />Regular Mee <br />6. NEW <br />C. <br />elopment Commission <br />- July 25, 1986 <br />(Cont.) <br />Co ssion authorization r ested to send a <br />let er to the City Engineer and President of <br />thelBoard of Public Works in regards to the <br />um. <br />Mr. Hunt explained that the purpose of the <br />letter is to allow the City to maintain its <br />construction schedule through the stadium <br />appeal process. This letter will commit the <br />Redevelopment Commission to supplying an <br />additional $600,000 of tax increment financing <br />funds for the stadium which will be reimbursed <br />once the Park Board has closed on the <br />finqncing with Security Pacific. This <br />aut orization will allow the City to continue <br />wi the stadium construction and complete the <br />pro'ect on time. <br />Mr.IHunt read the following letter into the <br />record. <br />July 25, 1986 <br />Mr. John E. Leszczynski, President <br />Boa d of Public Works <br />13t Floor County -City Building <br />Sou h Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE :j Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium <br />Dealr John: <br />As ou know, Indiana law permits construction <br />wor carried out in connection with <br />improvements in a redevelopment area to be <br />mad by the appropriate municipal agency if <br />all plans, specifications and drawings are <br />approved by that appropriate department or <br />age cy and the statutory procedures for the <br />letting of contracts by that department or <br />aqe cq are followed. <br />It is our understanding that the Board of <br />Works, as agent for the Park Board pursuant to <br />the terms of the Agency and Escrow Agreement <br />entered into by the Park Board, the City and <br />Security Pacific National Bank on May 20, <br />198(5, has previously advertised for and <br />received bids pertaining to concrete and steel <br />con truction work for the Stanley Coveleski <br />Regional Stadium Park pursuant to approved <br />plans, specifications and drawings. <br />-4- <br />
