Co ssion authorization r ested to send a let er to the City Engineer and President of thelBoard of Public Works in regards to the um. Mr. Hunt explained that the purpose of the letter is to allow the City to maintain its construction schedule through the stadium appeal process. This letter will commit the Redevelopment Commission to supplying an additional $600,000 of tax increment financing funds for the stadium which will be reimbursed once the Park Board has closed on the finqncing with Security Pacific. This aut orization will allow the City to continue wi the stadium construction and complete the pro'ect on time. Mr.IHunt read the following letter into the record. July 25, 1986 Mr. John E. Leszczynski, President Boa d of Public Works 13t Floor County -City Building Sou h Bend, IN 46601 RE :j Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium Dealr John: As ou know, Indiana law permits construction wor carried out in connection with improvements in a redevelopment area to be mad by the appropriate municipal agency if all plans, specifications and drawings are approved by that appropriate department or age cy and the statutory procedures for the letting of contracts by that department or aqe cq are followed. It is our understanding that the Board of Works, as agent for the Park Board pursuant to the terms of the Agency and Escrow Agreement entered into by the Park Board, the City and Security Pacific National Bank on May 20, 198(5, has previously advertised for and received bids pertaining to concrete and steel con truction work for the Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium Park pursuant to approved plans, specifications and drawings. -4-
