Co. <br />elopment Commission <br />- February 14, 1986 <br />(Cont.) <br />item was added to the agenda. <br />Ms. Holston stated that Mr. Townsend is the <br />owner of the property and will be acting as <br />his own general contractor. The total Rental <br />Re b loan is in the amount of $5,000.00 with <br />private financing in the amount of $14,218.34 <br />for a total project cost of $19,218.34. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Combs, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED A BID <br />Mr. Piasecki and unanimously carried, the AND IRAN IN CONNECTION <br />Co ssion approved a bid and loan in WITH THE RENTAL REHAB LOAN <br />connection with the Rental Rehab Loan Program PROGRAM AS LISTED ABOVE <br />as listed above. <br />7. PROGRES$ REPORT <br />Mr. Hunt noted that there has been a lot of PROGRESS REPORTS <br />activity in terms of organizational work that <br />has beeri done by a group of citizen volunteers <br />in the downtown through Center City <br />Associates. <br />Mr. Chr s Davey, President of Center City CENTER CITY ASSOCIATES <br />Associa es, was present and read the following UPDATE <br />letter into the record: <br />January 17, 1986 <br />Mr. Jon R. Hunt, Director <br />Community Development <br />County- ity Building <br />South B nd, IN 46601 <br />Dear Jock: <br />I am writing regarding the progress and <br />schedule for the re- opening of Michigan Street <br />to vehicular traffic. As I recall, the City <br />wanted to wait until the holiday season was <br />over and the weather was more cooperative. <br />You will recall how excited our group was <br />when the idea was first introduced. We are <br />more convinced today that this is a very <br />necessary project to the overall enhancement <br />of our Central Business District. <br />-14- <br />
