Mr. Ni z noted that in 1986 there is going to be a chimge again in the skyline of the City such as the skywalk between the Marriott and Century Center and the two apartment complexes in the East Bank. There is a wave of optimism over th City in regard to what the Commission is doin . Mr. Hunt further noted that in 1986 there is going to be the obvious excitement in the East Bank and it is going to generate additional growth in the area including Mr. Brademas' renovation of the old Robertson's warehouse. This critical mass of development is going to bring more and more pride to the East Race both regionally and nationally. This will bring a lot of attention to South Bend and downtovai South Bend. We are starting to establish an identity that will be different from a lot of medium sized midwestern cities. The Co ssion and staff are planning a firm foundation for the future. For 1986 also there will be growing strength in Center City Associates, a more agressive marketing of downtovai space, the reopening of Michigan Street, and the staff will be taking a look at potential light industrial areas in and around the fri ge of the downtown, similar to the Monroe Industrial Park. The Commission is tied closely to the national and regional economy. We will have to work within the parameter of federal funding cutbacks, but Mr. Hunt noted Redevelopment can still have a good year. There being no further business to come before the Orgzmizational Meeting of the Redevelopment Commission, Mr. Donoho made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:35 a.m. Mr. Pia ecki seconded by the motion and it was unanimo sly carried. .
