South B,
Regular
6. NEW
a.
Redevelopment Commission
ting - April 26, 1985
( font . )
g ing back to the original character of the
b ilding both interior and exterior. One
historical note is that that building has only
been used for food service ever since it was
b ilt in 1892. The estimated cost of
renovation and real estate improvements is the
highest of the three proposals. This appears
t reflect the desire of Colonial Food Service
tD achieve a high level of quality in the
project. Their cost of improvements is
e timated at $259,200 with an additional
$ 75,000 in equipment. Colonial Food Service
i3 related to Colonial Caterers who has 34
years of experience as a quality food service
b siness and it speaks well to the stability
of the company that would be behind the
project. The project would initially create
three full -time jobs but would also be
p oviding a number of part -time jobs at the
ak periods of operation. While the number
of jobs is not that high, the possibily some
of those part -time jobs would be from people
in the neighborhood.
. Kolata commented that the staff felt very
Dngly felt that all three bids received
a good bids.
. Auburn moved to accept the bid from
lonial Food Service for the disposition and
novation of the L. Keen building because of
e reasons stated in the staff report. Ms.
burn thanked Mr. Brademas and Mr. Way for
eir effort and time in submitting bids for
e project. She stated that Colonial Food
rvice seems to best fit the needs of the
nroe Park area.
Nft% Piasecki seconded the motion, and it was
animously approved that the bid be awarded
to Colonial Food Service in the amount of
$26,509.77 for Disposition Parcels 4 -1 and 4 -2
in the Monroe Sample Development Area.
.
