South Ben0edevelopment Con¢ni.ssion
Regular Me ting - May 25, 1984
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
c. C ssion a pproval requested for Resolution
No 707 a p roving an application for real
property tax deduction.
Mn s. Kolata explained that this petition for
tax abatement was filed by One- Three -Two
Partnership Limited for a property located at
1113 W. Colfax. This is the former Sonneborn
building and is going to house the Sheffer's
Advertising Agency. The project cost is
$530,000 and will create 20 new jobs through
the expansion of the Advertising Agency. The
building has approximately 12,000 square feet
and Sheffer's will use all but about 1,000
square feet which they intend to lease out.
With abatement the estimate of taxes paid over
the ten year period is approximately $122,298
and the amount abated would be $119,872. The
project meets the criteria of the Common
Co cil for tax abatement by being in a
Req1evelopment Area.
Mr Ernie Szarwark, attorney for the
petitioner, was present to answer any
cru stions of the Commission.
Mr Donaldson asked whether or not Sheffer's
Ad ertising were considering any minority
em loyees to be included in the new jobs.
Mr. Szarwark stated that there will be
coiisideration of minorities for placement of
the new jobs.
Mrs. Kolata stated that perhaps Mr. Sheffer
would work with the Department's Targeted Jobs
Coordinator when there are positions opening
up Mr. Sheffer said he would be willing to
work with the Targeted Jobs Coordinator at
that time.
Upon a motion made by Mr. Piasecki, seconded
by Mr. Donaldson and unanimously carried,
Resolution No. 707 approving an application
for real property tax deduction was approved.
-4-
RESOLUTION NO. 707
APPROVING AN APPLICATION
FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX
DEDUCTION WAS APPROVED
