The <br />proc <br />to B <br />Area <br />Depa <br />Assi <br />(Uni <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT <br />EAST BANK DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />BUSINESS RELOCATION POLICY STATEMENT <br />urpose of this statement is to set forth relocation policies, <br />dures and requirements concerning relocation services provided <br />sinesses displaced as a result of the East Bank Development <br />project. Relocation policies and procedures adopted by the <br />tment of Redevelopment are subject to the Uniform Relocation <br />tance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 <br />orm Act). <br />This relocation policy supplements the Uniform Act which provides <br />for a number of types of relocation payments and will extend <br />additional assistance to businesses purchasing a replacement <br />building within the City of South Bend. <br />Relocation Assistance Services <br />General <br />The Department of Redevelopment will assist any <br />person displaced from his business or farm <br />operation to obtain and become established in a <br />suitable replacement location. <br />Services to be provided <br />1. Information concerning the availability <br />of relocation payments and assistance as <br />well as the requirements and procedures <br />for obtaining those payments. <br />2. Personal interviews will be conducted to <br />determine the relocation needs and <br />preferences of businesses to be <br />displaced, to further explain those <br />relocation payments and other assistance <br />for which they may be eligible, and the <br />procedures for obtaining such payments <br />and assistance. These interviews will <br />be conducted to the extent possible at a <br />reasonable time convenient to the <br />business concern. <br />3. Current information on the availability, <br />location, purchase prices, and rental <br />costs of comparable replacement <br />commercial properties shall be provided <br />to displaced business. <br />12/15/83 <br />
