Type <br />Reau <br />of Relocation Assistance Payments and Eliqibilit <br />Lrements <br />A. Relocation Payment <br />Displaced businesses purchasing a replacement <br />building within the city of South Bend will be <br />eligible for a payment to cover cost associated <br />with bringing the replacement location up to <br />local, state and federal codes and also cost <br />associated with making the building comparable to <br />present location will be considered as eligible <br />cost. <br />The following procedure will be used in <br />determining the amount of payment: <br />1. Business being relocated selects <br />replacement location and Department of <br />Redevelopment has it inspected. <br />2. All code violations and other items <br />associated with making building <br />comparable to present location are <br />brought to the attention of the business <br />being relocated. <br />3. Business being relocated accepts a <br />minimum of two proposals for necessary <br />repair work. <br />4. Department of Redevelopment provides <br />written authorization to business being <br />relocated to enter into contract with <br />contractor submitting the lowest <br />proposal. This contract shall specify a <br />time period for completion of all work - <br />not to exceed sixty (60) days. <br />5. Amount of contract is used in <br />determining the amount of payment. <br />6. Work is done by contractor <br />7. Department of Redevelopment has property <br />inspected to verify that work has been <br />completed satisfactorily. <br />8.
