He stated that is also looking to get an update on the Weather Amnesty Program early <br /> on within the second(2nd) quarter to find out what works, what doesn't work and what is the plan <br /> for 2020. <br /> He continued, stating that he would like to get an update on the Peacemaker Grant Initiative. He <br /> stated that he'd like to know how things are going with it as well as where the money is going, and <br /> what the groups are doing. He would like to get a report maybe later this quarter or in the second <br /> (2nd) quarter. <br /> Committee Chair Troy Warner opened the meeting to the rest of the committee members for any <br /> thoughts, ideas, goals or things that they'd like to see or accomplish in 2020 either in conjunction <br /> with the existing goals or in opposition to the existing goals. <br /> Committeemember Sharon L. McBride stated that she is looking forward to continuing the work <br /> on the remaining/outstanding 2019 goals in 2020. <br /> Committeemember Sheila Niezgodski spoke about the need to really be able to manage the 911 <br /> center portion of the goals for 2020. <br /> Committeemember Rachel Tomas Morgan spoke about the fact that she is looking forward to <br /> being able to move forward with a few very specific items which involve the Climate Action Plan <br /> that was approved in 2019 as well as tackling the homelessness issues that the City of South Bend <br /> has. <br /> Councilmember Tim Scott spoke about the RSVP program as well as the need to have some serious <br /> conversations regarding the Code Enforcement Department and their ability to be able to do their <br /> job to best of their ability with regard to people who may be creating issues in our neighborhoods. <br /> He also spoke about the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the South Bend Police Department <br /> that will be coming up for discussion soon and how some of the Councilmembers will be pulled <br /> in on that conversation. He stated that PSAP will be a big conversation to have. <br /> Councilmember Karen L. White stated that she spoke to the Common Council Attorney, Bob <br /> Palmer regarding taking a historical look of standing committees and how standing committees <br /> were formulated and what they were based on.
