South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - March 11, 1983 <br />5. OLD BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. Continued... <br />Mr. Piasecki stated that's good for everybody. <br />Bids are going to have to be made to cover this <br />cost <br />Mr. Bockaj agreed and stated the guy probably <br />won't make anything for himself but will keep <br />his inan busy. <br />Mr. Diasecki said he is talking about making <br />the wage scale equal for everybody. <br />Mr. Bockaj stated he does make money on that. <br />He makes $300 -400 a week thats a decent wage <br />for himself. He doesn't want to get himself <br />rich He just wants to survive in this world, <br />soh can pay his insurance, keep his family, <br />drive a decent car. He is not trying to be <br />rich He works 7 days a week and he is being <br />told that he has to pay his guy more than that <br />so he can screw up the job when he is not there. <br />Mr. Robinson stated that not all employees are <br />like that. He said if that is the kind of em- <br />ploy es he had he would be looking for a differ- <br />ent work force. <br />Mr.' imtz said the Chair was going to conclude <br />the discussion. He said he felt they had given <br />everlbody an opportunity to speak. He asked if <br />ther was anybody present who had not spoken and <br />would like to say something. <br />No one spoke. <br />Mr. Nimtz again asked what was the pleasure of <br />the commission. <br />Mr. Robinson asked if they could rebid. <br />Ms. Schwartz stated that the bids have already <br />gone out and they are before the Commission. She <br />stated that if the Commission wishes to reject <br />any and all bids at that point, they will be able <br />to rebid it. <br />Mr. naldson moved to reject all bids. Mr. <br />Robinson seconded the motion. <br />a99C <br />
