The petitioners have
been amenable to changes requested from Area Plan Commission staff and the Department of
Community Investment staff to help make this site more appropriate for the area. They've provided
additional screening by supplementing it with evergreen trees to help screen it from the residential
uses to the west. They also modified their parking area on the east side to help provide more green
space along State Road 23. This comes to you with a favorable recommendation from the Area
Board of Zoning Appeals, subject to that the primary building be either brick or stone and that the
drive-thru facility use the same building materials as the primary building and feature the same
road sign. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
Mike Danch, Danch, Harner and Associates, 1643 Commerce Drive, South Bend, IN stated, As
Jordan has mentioned,we're asking for is approval tonight from Council for the special exception.
Special exception especially for the drive-thru for the bank facility.
