Cot ission approval <br />Reh bilitation Gran <br />mo nt c <br />an ome. <br />equested for a Non - Profit <br />to Renew, Inc., in the <br />for a house located at 750 <br />Mr. McMahon asked Mr. John Hill of Renew, Inc., <br />to briefly outline the work Renew, Inc., does. <br />Mr. Hill explained to Mr. Piasecki the history <br />of enew and the progress of its program over <br />the past 10 years. <br />On a motion made by Mr. Piasecki, seconded by Ms. <br />Aub rn and unanimously carried, the request for <br />a N n- Profit Rehabilitation Grant to Renew, Inc., <br />in the amount of $10,000.00 for a house located <br />at 750 Sancome was approved. <br />g. Com ission approval requested for an Agreement <br />between the City of South Bend, Indiana, through <br />its Department of Redevelopment, and Kevin J. <br />Butler for legal services relating to the Depart- <br />ment. <br />Mr. McMahon explained that the agreement between the <br />Cit of South Bend and Kevin J. Butler is a result <br />of hanges in Home Rule, which places the City At- <br />tor ey in the lead position for providing legal ser- <br />vic s to all city departments. As a result of nego- <br />tia ions with Mr. Butler, this contract proposes <br />tha he be retained to represent the Redevelopment <br />Co ission in a manner somewhat as in the past. <br />Mr. Butler explained that he will be responsible <br />for the legal opinions and decisions that are re- <br />qui ed at the meetings of the Commission and for <br />acq isition and disposition matters, principally <br />wit in the Monroe - Sample project area, and condem- <br />na 0 on matters within the East Bank and Monroe- <br />Sam le project areas, and in matters as directed <br />by he Department and City Attorney's office. <br />7 <br />COMMISSION APPROVED <br />SECTION 312 LOAN PROGRAM <br />PROPOSAL FOR 521 NORTH <br />LELAND AVENUE <br />COMMISSION APPROVED NON- <br />PROFIT REHABILITATION <br />GRANT TO RENEW, INC., <br />FOR HOUSE LOCATED AT <br />750 SANCOME <br />
