Olivia Allen expressed her concern about the decision by Notre Dame's and Saint Marys student <br /> governments to eliminate the Midnight Express route that goes between the campuses, due to <br /> financial reasons. The price increase proposed was to be fifty-six percent (56%) from last year, <br /> and the student governments decided to discontinue funding for that program. There are <br /> meetings upcoming to discuss the options for the tri-campus community. <br /> Tim Sexton inquired about the history of the Midnight Express, which then began an informal <br /> conversation within the Committee regarding the history of, the reasons for discontinuance of, <br /> and the possible options moving forward from, the Midnight Express. <br /> RESIDENTS/NEIGHBORS UPDATES AND CONCERNS: <br /> Marguerite Taylor works at the Robinson Community Center. She brought fliers for a picnic to <br /> be had on Friday September 13th. She then updated the Committee on the health status of <br /> Committeemember Lou Ella Webster. She had back surgery and she is in recovery, and she is <br /> doing well. <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND UPDATES/CONCERNS: <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic reminded the Committee of the South Bend Awesome Fund, which <br /> is a quarterly award of$1,000 to an idea that will help benefit the South Bend Community. <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic adjourned the meeting at 3:54 p.m. The next meeting is tentatively <br /> scheduled for October 8th, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. <br /> Respectfull Submitted, <br /> Gavin Ferlic, Committee Chair <br /> 2 <br />
