Jonathan Retartha introduced himself as the Director for Housing Operations and Residential <br /> Life. He is the successor of Tony Oleck, who is now the advisor for a Vice President of the <br /> University. He praised the success of the fall Off-Campus Engagement and Resource Fair with <br /> approximately two hundred and fifty(250) people with a number of represented landlords. There <br /> will be a Landlord Summit in the spring and then another Off-Campus Engagement Fair that will <br /> follow that Summit. <br /> Linde Hoffman introduced herself as the Chief of Staff for Notre Dame's Student Government. <br /> She announced the passage of a resolution in the Student Senate that changed the Constitution to <br /> require all student leaders to go through GreenDot training. GreenDot is a program working on <br /> interpersonal violence and bystander training. They have also started a relationship with L Street <br /> Kitchen to try and promote that business. Notre Dame students will now get a discount on certain <br /> days of the week. They also created a South Bend Adventure Guide for the student body that is <br /> attached to the Welcome Weekend App. It being midterm season, there is not much else going <br /> on with regard to programming events but there is a large event coming in the spring. It <br /> essentially replaces the TEDx event that was held about two (2) years ago. The licensing for that <br /> is complicated and they are starting their own event called Expand. It is a series of lectures and <br /> there is an application going around for anyone who would like to speak. That is planned to <br /> happen in February. <br /> Pam Blair introduced herself. She is with the KROC Institute for International Peace Studies at <br /> the University of Notre Dame. One (1) of the students in the program is blind and she requested <br /> an inquiry into the traffic light at the corner of Angela and Notre Dame Avenue to see if it could <br /> become more ADA accessible. She also spoke about the Poetry Den and her aim to get more <br /> students involved with that. They partnered with the Snite Museum and every few months they <br /> host an event. That is open to everyone and the next one (1) is in November at the Civil Rights <br /> Heritage Center. <br /> Tim Sexton introduced himself. He stated he had a few updates. The apartment complexes on the <br /> east side of SR-23 are now open. One (1) part of the building will open in the spring and the <br /> other in the summer. Also, ground has been broken for the new Robinson Community Learning <br /> Center. That building will be open by August of 2020. The Notre Dame Center for Civic <br /> Innovation had an open house. The building across the street from the Civil Rights Heritage <br /> Center is now the home to the Notre Dame Center for Civic Innovation. Their team has <br /> substantial interaction with the City of South Bend and even Elkhart. Sixty(60) students from all <br /> the different college and university communities volunteer there. St. Mary's, Holy Cross and <br /> Notre Dame received a Next Level Trail Grant from Governor Holcomb. The plan is to construct <br /> a pedestrian path down the west side of SR-933. By this time next year, the hope is for it to be <br /> done. <br /> INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTH BEND UPDATES/CONCERNS: <br /> Ken Baierl divulged the reason for their absence at the last CCAC meeting- IUSB was installing <br /> their new Chancellor on that day as well as the President of the Student Government Association, <br /> Rodger Pinto, being in the White House. He also announced his retirement coming at the end of <br /> December. He thanked the Committee for their continued commitment to the community. <br /> Rodger Pinto introduced himself and announced that he is also the Chairperson for Indiana <br /> University student government as a whole. He then briefly explained his trip and his experience <br /> at the White House. He announced the passage of an amended Student Government Constitution <br /> which consisted of a lot of changes in policies. The Student Government's goal of the year is to <br /> 2 <br />
